NWDCS will be hosting its 3rd Annual Walk A Mile With Your Pet awareness event at Sunset Lake on October 9 to help increase awareness of Pet Violence in abusive relationships. Included in the morning's activities are a walk around the beautiful Sunset Lake, OPSU Athletics will be in attendance, and there is a Costume Contest!


With Halloween coming up, we want to see those pets dressed up in awesome costumes. We will have judges to award a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize. 


  • Bring the kiddos out and let them play catch with OPSU Baseball players.
  • Seaboard will be in attendance cooking up some hamburgers and hot dogs and also doing a raffle for a cooler of meat, proceeds will got o NWDCS, Inc.
  • The day of the event will be the drawing day for the NWDCS raffle (See details below)

NWDCS is selling tickets throughout September for a chance to win one of three great prizes:

  • Two panel painting by a local artist - Jen Hamilton
  • Handcrafted leather purse - Designs by ELL
  • B/D Dustbuster & Power XLSmokeless Grill Combo - Donated by Wirtz Lumber
