WHAT ARE WE UP TO?

LAUREN REPLOGLE,

ADVOCATE

...WHEN IT HURTS, WE CAN HELP

WHERE ARE WE?

ADVOCACY:

Our advocates are trained and certified specifically in the areas of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. We also provide services related to Human Trafficking and Stalking.

Services provided include, but are not limited to:

  • Safe Environment (Shelter)
  • Intake and Assessment
  • Development of Safety Plans, addressing specific situations
  • Accompaniment to case related services. (e.g. - Law Enforcement, Court, Medical Services)
  • Protective Orders

EDUCATION:

NWDCS is dedicated to providing education to both survivors, and the public, about Domestic and Sexual Violence, Human Trafficking, and Stalking. We also provide education on topics such as Teen Dating Violence and Animal Abuse (and how it is used to maintain control over a victim).

If you would like to have us come and do a presentation for your organization, give us a call and we will be happy to provide education to your organization members.

SHELTER SERVICES:

There is not a shelter located in Dewey County. However, if someone in the area is needing to obtain safety and shelter, it is available. We have shelters in Woodward, OK and Guymon, OK.  It is a communal living arrangement and is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is always someone there to help with client's needs.

Other shelter services include, but are not limited to:

  • Food
  • A Clothing Closet
  • Play Area for children
  • Pet Friendly (with limitations, in accordance with County/State ordinance)
  • 24/7 Staff Support
  • Laundry Facility

RAPID RE-HOUSING and PREVENTION:

Along with assisting survivors of abuse, NWDCS is also dedicated to helping put an end to homelessness. With our Rapid Re-Housing and Prevention Program, we are able to put forth a solid effort toward ending homelessness. This program does have eligibility requirements.

  • Rapid Re-Housing
    • Through grant funding, the re-housing program allows us to help an individual, who meets the criteria for 'Chronic Homelessness', obtain more permanent housing. Through this funding we can help with a portion of the initial costs to moving into a new home.
  • Prevention
    • Prevention is the notion of helping a family to catch up on overdue rent, and utility bills, to keep them from becoming homeless. Many families fall on hardship once in a while, we want to try and help.
